It’s Friday night. It’s here. Just like last week, and the week before that. Is this Friday different? Every Friday is different. They’re all equally great in that for most of us it signals the end of the work week. It’s time to put our feet up and chill out. Have a drink and listen to some music and reflect on the week’s good and bad moments. Or if you’re me, just forget about the hours of 6am to 2pm and then the whole week seems great. “Well J, there was that whole thing with your son throwing up several times yesterday. And there’s those idiots at work always trying to stifle your good vibes, and then…” Hey, who invited you Debbie Downer?? Get out of here!!
Okay, so it’s not all great. But Friday night is the erase button for the week. For me, it’s drinking a beer or three and listening to some new music. Tonight it’s Dundee Stout(out of a fall variety pack) and The Knife’s Shaking The Habitual. For me to try and explain it would be futile at this point. After three beers it would just get weird at this point. I’ll say this: an evil LCD Soundsystem. Or a stripped down Prodigy. It’s noisy, weird, and psychedelic. Not in a “groovy, man” psychedelic way. But more of a’ Jacob’s Ladder’ sort of way. Darkly hallucinogenic. Something like Remain In Light if Bjork had made that album instead of Talking Heads.
Okay, so I guess I sorta explained it.
So that’s what’s happening here. There’s a couple other albums, like the Let The Right One In Soundtrack and the Zombi Soundtrack, courtesy of my friends at Death Waltz Recording Company. But I’ll save those for later. I have to have something else to talk about tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend folks.
