One of my finds in Illinois, Herbie Hancock’s ‘Headhunters’ is one of the funkiest albums I’ve ever heard, and a classic in my book.

I first bought this album in November of 2005. It was the remastered cd and my first taste of Hancock’s funky side. I’d gone to an 8 hour Hazmat training session in South Bend and stopped at a Borders on the way home to pick up something new. ‘Headhunters’ filled my void and it’s been a favorite ever since. Finding a first pressing of this funked-out classic was the icing on my vinyl hunting cake.

This is where I drop the spat and spittle, the sentimental fat and drivel... Music and such, and maybe a word or two about a word or two. Midwest point-of-view, without all that religion and gun stuff. Intellectually unintellectual. Elitist for the pizza and beer crowd. Grab a bean bag and lounge in the basment for a while, won't you?
