Thursday’s Brew

I’m looking at you, Rasputin.

So we got a new place to shop here in Hoosierville. It’s another giant chain store. A massive one stop shopping experience along the lines of those other, more evil retail juggernauts. The difference with this one is that it’s cleaner…and newer. And cleaner.

Though corporate conglomerate they are, they have one hell of a craft beer selection. I picked this tasty number up this afternoon. Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. I do love me a good stout, and who doesn’t love Rasputin?

It took poisoning, stabbing, shooting, bludgeoning, and finally drowning Rasputin before he finally died.

I’m guessing they didn’t have Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout on hand.

  1. I wonder if there’s a starter for this stout–like sour dough starter–that’s as stubborn as Rasputin was.

There’s a local milk stout that’s now being canned and distributed–Lily Flagg Milk Stout. If you like milk stout, it’s worth trying. If you happen to see it in cans, however, make sure the cans don’t look swollen.
