This is happening tonight

The Terror was waiting for me on the kitchen table. It appeared to have been waiting in Boston as well. Two different terrors. Don’t know enough about either yet to comment. Boston is yet another example of senseless violence(they are referring to these explosions as bombs). A positive event, bringing so many together turned into something like a war zone. True terror.

Now, self-inflicted terror…

I’m halfway through The Flaming Lips aural terror. All I can say is the folks pining for a return to Yoshimi good times and pop hooks will continue to hate Coyne and company’s bad trip. But those that love their adventurous streak and love their music dense and difficult, prepare for a feast. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Flaming Lips song? When the colors are the brightest you’ve reached your destination.

  1. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I’ve never given them a chance. Forever and ever ago, a friend dated a douchebag and unfortunately for the FL, he loved them.

      1. That’s exactly what I was looking for, a suggestion. And you, you picked up on that. Now, I have located said vinyl rip on youtube and shall commence to listen as I knit. danke 🙂

  2. I am still waiting to hear the album, but from hearing the first track that leaked, I expect a full-on psychedelic mind warp. Which is totally keeping with their evolution of the past few years.
I read your recommendation above to listen to Soft Bulletin, and I concur, but I still call Yoshimi my favorite.

What do you think? Let me know
