Record Store Day 2013

Record Store Day 2013 is coming. April 20th to be exact. Now I’m not going to go into some huge post about this totally incredible day where the vinyl lovers of the world celebrate records and show brick ‘n mortar record stores some love. Nah. I’ll save that for another day and a much longer post. I figured I’d just say a little something letting the world know I’m ready for RSD. I’m ready for John Coltrane Newport 61’, The Cure Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Tame Impala EP, and the Elvis Costello/Roots collaboration.

Yeah, I’m excited.

Alright, back to your regularly scheduled program. Dancing With The Stars: Kandahar, or CSI: Mayberry, or whatever Fox has going on.

Carry on.

    1. You should, by all means! Next to Festivus, it’s my favorite day of the year.

My youngest daughter and I had a blast last year going from one store to the next, searching for the elusive Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends(I found a copy in the last, out of the way store we went to). She enjoyed the many kind store owners and their offerings of donuts and cookies. Good time had by all!

You should definitely check it out this year, whether or not you buy an album. Buy a cd. Buy a t-shirt, or bumper sticker. Just go to check out the freaks like me.

      1. I will. We have a great store in Princeton NJ called the Princeton Record Exchange (www.prex.com) where all you freaks hang out and flip through vinyl :). Peeking at the website it seems they make a big deal of RSD too! Festivus. I recall “Feats of Strength”. Festivus may deserve its own post.

      2. The airing of grievances is a favorite around here. I’m expecting a Festivus post from you. Don’t let me or Kramer down.

The Princeton Record Exchange sounds wonderful. My kinda people. I’d love to hit a different store in a different state each year. A fella can dream, anyways.
